Over the summer of 2008 Cripps Hall student, Lisa Erlandsen, spent time at the Misr International University, Cairo, Egypt.

Lisa said:

“For me, this was an immensely valuable experience, and one that has inspired me to learn more about the Middle East in the course of my degree. But it also showed me a cultural side of Arab life and its people that was a truly heart-warming experience. Whether it was the staff at the university, our neighbours in Cairo, or friends we met along the way, I found the Egyptians to be kind and generous people, who above all want people to have and remember a positive experience of a very misunderstood region.”
