Margaret Lucas Scholarships

This grant is directed to projects of a ‘social service’ nature, of benefit to the University and wider Nottingham(shire) communities with particular reference to the supporting the disadvantaged.  The Scholarship was introduced following the COVID Lockdowns of 2020 and changes in the Hall’s structure to replace the Margaret Lucas Prize.

About Mrs Margaret Lucas

Mrs Margaret Lucas was the wife of Dr Harry Lucas, the first Warden of Cripps Hall.  For many years, she dedicated herself to playing an important role in hall life, support both her husband and resident students.  Her example of selfless service to those in need is the inspiration for this award.

Eligibility

This scholarship is available to current undergraduate residents of Cripps Hall and to past residents who are still students at the University of Nottingham and maintain a connection with the Hall.  The granting of all awards and any distribution of funds is at the sole discretion of The Cripps Hall Trust’s Board of Trustees.
